GSS VK Pur Holds School-Level Eye Screening Camp on World Sight Day 2025

To commemorate World Sight Day 2025, a School-Level Eye Screening Camp was conducted at Government Secondary School (GSS) VK Pur under the Inclusive Education Programme, focusing on the early detection and treatment of eye-related problems among students and teachers.

The event commenced with a warm welcome by Mr. Manotosh Roy, Head of GSS VK Pur. The occasion was graced by Ms. Shiny, Ophthalmologist, as the Chief Guest. Miss Sagarika Mistry, Health Educator, and Ms. Laxmi, Community Health Officer (CHO) from Sub Centre VK Pur, addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance of eye care and the need for regular eye check-ups.

Ms. M. Vijayalakshmi, Program Coordinator and Special Educator, oversaw the smooth execution of the screening activities. During the camp, 153 students were screened, and one student with an eye injury was referred for follow-up treatment.

The initiative not only provided necessary eye health services but also created awareness among students and teachers about the significance of early detection and preventive care for vision-related issues.
