A five-day hands-on training programme (Phase-I) for Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL) in-charges from government and private schools commenced today at the ATL Laboratory of GSSS Haddo. The initiative aims to equip ATL in-charges with practical skills essential for fostering creativity and innovation among students.

The programme was inaugurated by Mr. Gyan Sheel Dubey, Head of Office and Deputy Director of Education (Admin.), who attended the event as the chief guest. In his address, Mr. Dubey underlined the importance of experiential training and encouraged the participants to actively support student-led innovation through the development of practical, need-based models.

Earlier, Mr. Ram Parvesh, Deputy Director of Education (Science), welcomed the gathering. He highlighted the growing role of ATL activities in promoting scientific thinking among students and shared plans to further strengthen ATL initiatives throughout the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

The training is being facilitated by expert resource persons, including Mr. Sudeep Chakraborty from DBRAIT, Mr. M. Sakthivel from SOVTECH, and Ms. Anisha Ahmed from ITI. ATL in-charges from schools spread across the islands—from GSSS Goal Tikrey in Kamorta to GSSS Diglipur—are participating in the training through interactive group activities and practical sessions.

This initiative represents a significant step towards nurturing a culture of innovation and hands-on learning in schools, further strengthening the ATL mission in the region.
