A hands-on Training Programme on e-Claim Generation under the e-Bill System of the Public Financial Management System (PFMS) was successfully conducted on February 11, 2026, at the EDP Section of the Office of the Chief Pay & Accounts Officer, Sri Vijaya Puram.

Inaugurating the programme, Mr. S. Dasgupta, Director of Accounts & Budget, highlighted the significance of digital transformation in government financial processes. He emphasized that the e-Bill System under PFMS enhances transparency, improves efficiency and ensures timely settlement of claims and payments.

He noted that the adoption of the online e-Claim system would substantially reduce reliance on physical documentation and minimize the need for vendors to make personal visits to government offices, thereby streamlining workflow and strengthening accountability.

The training programme was organised for representatives of Government Departments and Autonomous Bodies that provide services to various Departments of the A&N Administration. Participants included officials from ANIIDCO, Store Division–APWD, Government Press, Sri Vijaya Puram Municipal Council and other service-providing agencies.

During the session, participants received detailed hands-on training on the generation of Claim Reference Numbers (CRN), submission of e-Claims using Digital Signature Certificates (DSC), generation of e-Bills and online tracking of payment status through PFMS.

The initiative forms part of the Government of India’s ongoing efforts towards end-to-end digitalisation of public financial management and strengthening ease of doing business with Government Departments.
