This program is part of the broader celebration of the Island Tourism Festival 2024, which aims to showcase the rich cultural heritage and vibrant artistic traditions of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Hasya Kavita, or humorous poetry, is a popular genre in Hindi literature, where poets use humour, satire, and wordplay to comment on various aspects of society, politics, and everyday life. Hasya Kavita is meant to entertain, often invoking laughter while subtly addressing important social issues. Poets performing in a Hasya Kavi Sammelan create an interactive atmosphere, where their humorous verses not only entertain but also prompt the audience to reflect on the absurdities and contradictions of the world around them.
