The Directorate of Health Services, in association with the Union Territory Health Mission (UTHM), A&N Administration, organised a Healthy Baby Contest at the ITF Ground on December 30 as part of the Island Tourism Festival (ITF) 2025.
The event celebrated child health and happiness, while underscoring the importance of early childhood care, nutrition and overall wellness. Parents and children from across the islands participated enthusiastically in the contest, which was conducted in three age categories.
In the 6 months to 1 year category, Shanya Zameer, daughter of Zameer Ahmed, secured the first position, followed by Arav S. Nair, son of Anand K. Vijayan, in second place, and Riddhisha, daughter of Rajesh Kumar Mondal, in third place. T. Vanshit, son of T. Venkateshwar Rao, received the consolation prize.
In the 1 year to 3 years category, Anika Pandey, daughter of Srikant Pandey, won first place. K. Saanvi, daughter of B. Kali Das, secured second position, while Saanvika Singh, daughter of Sanket Singh, stood third. Jeevika Yadav, daughter of Ramesh Yadav, was awarded the consolation prize.
In the 3 years to 5 years category, Aditi Singh, daughter of Dilip Kumar Singh, clinched the first prize, followed by Aadhya M. Siddhanta, daughter of J. Siddhanta, in second place, and B. Thanvi, daughter of B. Kalidas, in third place. Kiara Biswas, daughter of Bishnudas Biswas, received the consolation prize.
Health officials highlighted that such initiatives play a vital role in promoting awareness about child health, balanced nutrition and preventive healthcare practices among parents, contributing to the holistic development of children across the islands.
