As part of the Island Tourism Festival (ITF) 2025, being held from December 27 to 31, the Directorate of Health Services (DHS), in association with the Union Territory Health Mission (UTHM), A&N Administration, will organise a Healthy Baby Contest on December 30, 2025, at the ITF Ground, VIP Road, Sri Vijaya Puram.
The contest will begin at 9:00 a.m. and is open to participants from South Andaman. Babies will be judged under three categories: 6 months to 1 year, 1 year to 3 years, and 3 years to 5 years. Registration of participating babies will be carried out at the venue from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., followed by evaluation from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Parents have been requested to bring the necessary documents for verification, including the baby’s birth certificate, ANC/MCP card of the mother, immunisation card, and proof of family planning methods adopted, if any. The names of the winners will be published in print and electronic media, and certificates will be distributed to the winners on the same day.
Describing the event as a celebration of health and happiness, DHS said the contest aims to highlight the importance of early childhood wellness and healthy development. The Directorate of Health Services has expressed hope for enthusiastic participation and looks forward to showcasing South Andaman’s healthy babies at the ITF Ground on December 30, 2025, a press release from DHS stated.
