Heavy Rain and Squally Weather Alert for A&N Islands; Fishermen Urged to Stay Ashore Until July 19

Andaman and Nicobar Islands are bracing for heavy rainfall and squally weather according to the weather advisory. Heavy rain measuring between 7 to 11 centimeters at isolated places across the archipelago is forecasted on July 16 and 17.

In addition to heavy rain, squally weather conditions with surface winds gusting between 40 to 50 kilometers per hour are expected along and off the A&N Islands. The sea conditions are also predicted to be rough to very rough during this period.

As a precautionary measure, fishermen have been strongly advised not to venture into the sea along and off the A&N Islands until July 19 to ensure their safety.
