Authorities have issued a warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall in the Andaman Islands today, with precipitation expected to reach between 7 to 20 centimetres at one or two locations. The Nicobar Islands are also forecasted to experience heavy rainfall, ranging from 7 to 11 centimetres in isolated areas.

In addition to the rainfall, squally weather conditions are anticipated over the Andaman Sea and along the coast of the A&N Islands, with wind speeds reaching between 35 to 45 kmph, gusting up to 55 kmph. These conditions are expected to persist until October 23, leading to rough to very rough sea conditions.

Fishermen are advised against venturing into the sea over the Andaman Sea and along the coast of the A&N Islands until October 24 due to the hazardous weather conditions.

Local authorities have hoisted Local Cautionary Signal No. III at Sri Vijaya Puram Port in light of the weather warnings.
