Several Areas in Andaman and Nicobar Islands are likely to experience heavy rain, with precipitation ranging from 07-11 cm at one or two locations over the next three days, from November 23 to 25. The weather is being influenced by an upper air cyclonic circulation that has moved west-northwestward from the Equatorial Indian Ocean off the Sumatra coast, extending into the South Andaman Sea.

As the system continues to develop, a low-pressure area is expected to form over the southeast Bay of Bengal around November 23. The system is forecast to move west-northwestward and intensify into a depression over the central parts of the South Bay of Bengal in the next two days.

In addition to heavy rainfall, squally weather is anticipated, with wind speeds of 35 to 45 kmph, gusting up to 55 kmph, particularly over the South Andaman Sea, Nicobar Islands, and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal on November 23. The adverse conditions will extend over the Andaman Sea and A&N Islands until November 26.

Authorities have issued a warning to fishermen, advising them not to venture into the sea along and off the A&N Islands and Andaman Sea until November 26, due to the expected rough conditions.
