Authorities have issued a weather warning for the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, predicting heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and gusty winds over the next three days.
On August 13, heavy rain measuring between 7 and 11 cm is likely at one or two places across the Islands, accompanied by thunderstorms with gusty winds reaching 50–60 kmph and lightning. Similar weather is expected on August 14, while on August 15, thunderstorms with slightly lower wind speeds of 30–40 kmph and lightning are likely at isolated locations.
Authorities have also warned of squally weather along and off the A&N coast and over the Andaman Sea, with surface wind speeds of 35–45 kmph gusting up to 55 kmph. Sea conditions are expected to remain rough to very rough.
Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea or along the coast until August 14. (Story Based on PR)
