Andaman and Nicobar Islands are likely to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall today, with isolated places expected to receive between 7 to 20 cm of rain, according to the latest weather bulletin. The heavy rainfall is expected to continue on May 27, though with slightly reduced intensity, ranging from 7 to 11 cm at one or two locations across the islands.
In addition to the rains, squally weather with wind speeds reaching 35 to 45 kmph is expected along and off the A&N Islands and the Andaman Sea. The sea condition is forecast to remain moderate to rough during this period.
Authorities have issued an advisory urging fishermen to refrain from venturing into the sea along and off the A&N Islands and the Andaman Sea until further notice, citing safety concerns due to the prevailing weather conditions.
Residents and fishermen are advised to stay updated through official channels and take necessary precautions. (Story Based on PR)
