Authorities have issued a weather warning for the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, forecasting heavy rain, thunderstorms, and squally winds in the coming days.
According to the bulletin, heavy rainfall measuring between 7–11 cm is very likely at one or two places over the Islands on September 17, 18, and 19. Thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds (30–40 kmph) and lightning are also expected at isolated locations during this period.
Authorities have further warned of squally weather conditions over the Andaman Sea and along the A&N coast, with surface wind speeds likely to reach 35–45 kmph, gusting up to 55 kmph. Sea conditions are expected to remain rough.
In view of the rough sea conditions, fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea along and off the Andaman Sea and A&N coast on September 18. (Story Based on PR)
