The Andaman and Nicobar Islands are bracing for heavy rainfall and thunderstorms in some areas on August 31, and Heavy Rainfall in some areas on 1st, 2nd and 3rd September, according to a weather advisory released by the local authorities.
On August 31, the islands are likely to experience heavy rain, ranging from 7 to 11 centimetres, at one or two locations. Alongside the rain, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are also expected to occur in isolated places across the archipelago.
The forecast doesn’t show any relief in the following days, as heavy rainfall in the same range (7-11 cm) is predicted for September 1, 2, and 3 at one or two places over the islands.
