South Andaman District is under lockdown since 24th of May 2021 and the shops selling essentials have been allowed to open for only two hours every morning. Many residents of the Islands are now ordering essentials through stores offering home delivery.
District Administration has also issued e-pass to several stores for home deliver of essentials. The demand for home delivery of goods in South Andaman is continuously increasing.
Home Delivery of essentials is bringing some relief to the residents of South Andaman District.
Delivery staff of these establishments are also following all COVID-19 norms and regulations. The system of home delivery currently being established by the neighbourhood stores, supermarkets and vegetable vendors should be continued beyond the lockdown period to ensure less crowds in the markets.
Door delivery of goods and services will become the new norm in the post COVID era and will provide new employment opportunities for the youth of our country.
