Hindi Workshop Organized at Police Headquarters in Andaman and Nicobar Islands

A Hindi workshop was held at the auditorium of the Police Headquarters on June 18, 2025. Officers and staff from various units of the Andaman and Nicobar Police actively participated in the event.

The workshop was inaugurated by Mr. Jitendra Kumar Meena, IPS, Superintendent of Police (Headquarters), who expressed his thoughts on the importance of Hindi as the official language. He urged all officers and employees of the department to make the most of this workshop. Mr. Meena emphasized the need for the police personnel to increasingly use Hindi in their daily official work to set an example for the entire police department in fulfilling the objectives of the official language policy.

The closing ceremony was graced by Mr. Sunny Gupta, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Fire and Emergency Services, as the chief guest. He expressed his happiness over the successful conduct of the Hindi workshop and called upon the departmental staff to strictly adhere to the official language rules, emphasising that compliance is not optional but mandatory. Mr. Gupta urged participants to apply the learnings from the workshop in their daily official duties and distributed certificates to the attendees.

Senior Translation Officer Mr. Mohan Das and Junior Translation Officer Mr. Ajay Singh delivered informative lectures during the workshop.

The program was conducted by the Department’s Deputy Superintendent of Police (Headquarters), Ms. Anila Sanjay, who also welcomed the chief guests and other dignitaries.
