In a remarkable endeavour that promises to make history, Chef Ashwar Pal Singh, the dynamic founder of 4 Seasons Event Management, a renowned event management firm in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, has embarked on an ambitious mission to craft a single laddo weighing over 500 kilograms. This colossal creation is being prepared as part of the Bhog (offering) for Lord Ganesha during the upcoming Ganesh Puja celebrations.
Addressing a press conference, Chef Ashwar Pal Singh shared that his team had previously set a record in 2022 by creating a laddo weighing a whopping 400+ kilograms, garnering recognition throughout the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. This year, they are determined to surpass their own achievement.
The grand laddo-making project commenced today, September 14, 2023, and will continue until September 17, 2023. On September 18, 2023, this colossal masterpiece will be showcased to the public at 4 Seasons Event Management, located beside the Maruti Showroom on VIP Road, Port Blair.
The festivity will extend beyond the creation of the laddo, as a Ganesh Bhog Yatra will set out from VIP Road, touring various areas of Port Blair city before culminating at Netaji Club in Aberdeen Bazaar. It is at the Netaji Club Pandal that Chef Ashwar Pal Singh will dedicate the 500+ kilogram laddo to Lord Ganesha.
For three days, the colossal laddo will be on public display at Netaji Club before being ceremoniously cut and served to devotees. Chef Ashwar Pal Singh has extended a warm invitation to all residents of the Islands to join him on September 18, 2023, at 4 Seasons Event Management on VIP Road, where they can witness this monumental achievement. A Maha Bhoj (grand feast) has also been organised for devotees at 4 Seasons.
Chef Ashwar Pal Singh, reflecting on his experience, emphasised the dedication and teamwork required to create such a monumental laddo. Notably, he clarified that the expenses for crafting the laddo are solely borne by himself, with no donations being solicited.
This extraordinary endeavour by Chef Ashwar Pal Singh and his team is set to be a defining moment in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands’ cultural and religious celebrations, as they prepare to offer a grand tribute to Lord Ganesha in the form of a 500+ kilogram laddo.
