Under various Panchayat Samitis, the Pramukh will receive an Honorarium of Rs. 7813/- per Month, Up-Pramukh – Rs. 5863/- per Month, Chairman Committee – Rs. 5375/- per Month and Member of Panchayat Samiti – Rs. 4888/- per Month.

Under various Gram Panchayats, the Pradhan will receive an Honorarium of Rs. 5863/- per Month, Up-Pradhan – Rs. 4888/- per Month, Sarpanch – Rs. 4888/- per Month, Up-Sarpanch – Rs. 4300/- per Month and Members of Gram Panchayat – Rs. 3519/- per Month.

Honorariums for various posts under different Panchayati Raj Institutions have been revised after 05 years.

Even the revised Honorarium for various Elected Members of the Panchayati Raj Institutions is very meagre compared to the work they are expected to perform.

Andaman and Nicobar Islands should set an example before all other Union Territories and States and should increase the Honorarium of the Elected Representatives to a respectable level. Incentives should also be given to the Elected Representatives for performing good and exceptional work.
