A couple from Bengaluru, staying in Hotel Hornbill Nest at Port Blair, were found dead in their hotel room on 3rd of March 2023. Police also recovered a Suicide Note from their hotel room.
The suicide note mentioned that they were alone and no one would claim their body.
As mentioned in the suicide note, no one came forward to claim the body of the couple, and their last rites were performed by the staff of PS Aberdeen and PBMC at Burial Ground, Phoenix Bay, on 19th March 2023.
The dead bodies were earlier kept at the Mortuary of G.B Pant Hospital so that their kith and kin could identify and claim their bodies.
The suicide note recovered by the police blamed a Bengaluru-based policeman and an advocate as the reason for the suicide of the couple.
Police has also registered a case against those named in the suicide note under section 306 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code.
