In view of the difficulties faced by tourists during medical emergencies, the authorities have advised hotels, guest houses and homestays across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands to ensure the availability of basic emergency and first aid kits in their establishments.
According to officials, it has come to notice that tourists visiting the islands often encounter challenges in accessing immediate medical assistance during emergencies, particularly due to the absence of essential first aid facilities in several accommodation units.
To address this issue and enhance the safety and well-being of visitors, hotel managements and hospitality establishments have been urged to maintain essential emergency first aid kits within their premises. The initiative aims to ensure that basic medical assistance can be provided promptly in case of sudden health issues or minor injuries faced by tourists.
The advisory emphasizes that the availability of first aid kits will help provide immediate relief during emergency medical situations until professional medical care is arranged.
Hospitality stakeholders have been encouraged to take necessary steps to comply with the advisory in order to improve emergency preparedness and ensure a safer experience for tourists visiting the islands.
