Hindu Rastra Sakthi, Port Blair in association with Beodnabad Panchayat and Department of Environment and Forests organised a massive tree plantation drive to commemorate Earth Day. The trees were planted in the jurisdiction of Beodnabad Panchayat.
S Preetha, Panchayat Secretary of Beodnabad thanked the Hindu Rastra Sakthi and the social workers of the area for organising the massive tree plantation drive.
Rakeshwar Lall, State President, Hindu Rastra Sakthi interacted with the villagers on the occasion and encouraged them to take up the social responsibility of serving the nation.
The programme was also attended by Angshuman Roy, State General Secretary (Youth), Hindu Rastra Sakthi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands who asked villagers to adopt values of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam in their lives and asked everyone to plant atleast five trees in their area and grow them.
Amar Kumar Singh, National Secretary, Hindu Rastra Sakthi highlighted the need for everyone to adopt the practice of 3R’s Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.
All COVID-19 protocols were followed during the event and over 50 saplings of different trees were planted during the drive.
