A huge haul of 48 Bottles of 750 ML IMFL was seized by Police at Campbell Bay on 22nd May 2023. According to the sources, the raid was conducted jointly by Mr. Brij Mohan Meena, SDPO, Campbell Bay and Mr. Parmender Singh, local CID staff posted at Campbell Bay.
The accused was arrested under the relevant sections of the law.
Sources also informed that the accused had purchased the liquor bottles over time from the ANIIDCO Wine Shop and stored them for illegal sale at higher prices.
The seizure of such a huge haul of liquor at Campbell Bay has earned the praise of the local population. Great Nicobar in the past was a den for the illegal sale of liquor but slowly over time, the illegal sale of liquor has reduced in the Island.
