HumaneTouch, a prominent NGO focused on social welfare and community development, officially inaugurated its Nagrik Seva Kendra at its Wimberly Gunj office on November 10, 2024, at 10:30 AM. The event was attended by Dr. Nitin Shakya, Director of Social Welfare (DANICS), who served as the Chief Guest. Dr. Shakya praised HumaneTouch’s ongoing efforts to serve the community and highlighted various social welfare schemes during his address.
An important initiative unveiled at the ceremony was the IZZAT Self-Help Group (SHG), created to empower women and provide employment through catering services and homemade food. The project aims to promote economic independence among women in the region.
The inauguration also honoured key members of the Islamic Welfare Society, with M Abdul Majeed, President, and MK Mohammed, Secretary, joining as Guests of Honour. The program began with a welcome address from Mr. Intazar Nahim, President of HumaneTouch, who shared the organisation’s ongoing initiatives aimed at social betterment.
Mr. A Abdul Aziz, the Coordinator of the Nagrik Seva Kendra, detailed the wide range of essential services the centre will offer. These include assistance with scholarships under CSR funds, passport seva, and online applications for driving and learning licenses. Additionally, the centre will provide career counselling, help with online admissions and entrance exam applications for state and national-level colleges, and guidance on accessing social welfare schemes from various departments such as Health, Social Welfare, and Industries.
In a gesture of gratitude, Mr. M Abdul Majeed presented a memento to Dr. Shakya, acknowledging his support. Mr. MK Mohammed also spoke, emphasising the importance of helping the underprivileged through dedicated social work.
The event saw participation from several distinguished figures, including P Abdul Basheer, Pradhan of Kanyapuram; VK Mariyam Bibi, Zila Parishad Member, Bambooflat; and V.D. Leju, a respected social worker. The gathering also included Mr. Venkat Ram Babu, Pradhan of Wimberly Gunj; A Ummer, Zilla Parishad member of Wimberly Gunj; Deb Kumar Badra, President of Sparsh NGO; Abhay Kumar, President of LOTE NGO; and N Yousuf, President of AMSO. Around 110 villagers also attended the event to celebrate the inauguration.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks from Mr. MK Naseerudeen, Secretary of HumaneTouch, while Mr. N Yassir, Executive Member of HumaneTouch, effectively moderated the ceremony.
The Nagrik Seva Kendra, located opposite the BSNL office in Wimberly Gunj, is a testament to HumaneTouch’s dedication to empowering the community through access to essential welfare services. The centre will be open from Monday to Saturday, between 9:00 AM and 12:30 PM.
