ICDS Urban Project Celebrates International Women’s Day 2025 with Enthusiasm

The ICDS Urban Project marked International Women’s Day 2025 with a vibrant celebration at its Attampahad office, recognizing the invaluable contributions of women across various spheres of society. This year’s theme, ‘She Builds BHARAT’, highlighted the pivotal role of women in nation-building.

The event featured a series of engaging activities, including Musical Chair, Passing the Ball, Rangoli, and a Recipe Competition. Community members and ICDS functionaries participated enthusiastically, with winners receiving prizes in appreciation of their efforts.

Retired Principal of ANM Training School, Ms. Jharna Roy, graced the occasion as the chief guest and emphasized the importance of gender equality as a fundamental right. Ms. Zarina Bibi, CDPO (ICDS Urban Project), underscored that gender equality is not just a matter of justice but also a key driver of social and economic progress.

Ms. Sandhya, Legal-cum-Probation Officer, DCPU, South Andaman, reiterated the government’s commitment to women’s empowerment through various policies, schemes, and legislative measures.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Archana B. Nair, Mukhya Sevika, ICDS Urban Project, expressing gratitude to all participants and guests for making the event a success.
