Identification and Medical Assessment Camp for Children with Special Needs Held at Little Andaman

The BPO, Little Andaman, successfully organized an Identification and Medical Assessment camp for Children with Special Needs (CwSN) at the Mini Hall of GMSSS Hutbay on August 8, starting at 9:00 am.

The event commenced with a warm welcome and bouquet presentations to the Chief Guest, Ms. B. Albakka (Mukhya Sevika), special guests, and other dignitaries. The lamp-lighting ceremony was jointly performed by the Chief Guest along with Mr. Prabhas Roy, Principal of GMSSS Hutbay; Ms. F. Nirmala Jayakodi, Headmistress of GMSSS Hutbay; Ms. Sakshi Baidya, Audiologist; and other key officials including Mr. Rajesh Kumar from CRC Brookshabad and Mr. M. Sathaiah, External Observer from Sri Vijaya Puram.

Programme Coordinator Mr. Mohan Prasad welcomed all the guests and participants, while Principal Prabhas Roy addressed the gathering emphasizing the critical importance of such medical assessment camps for CwSN students.

During the camp, doctors conducted thorough health check-ups and assessments for newly identified CwSN students. The Health Educator also performed essential health screenings. Additionally, the ALIMCO team collaborated with medical professionals to recommend appropriate aids and appliances tailored to the needs of these children.

The event witnessed active participation from about 50 attendees, including CwSN students and their parents, and was supported by a dedicated team comprising BRPs, BPO staff, Anganwadi workers, and observers such as Ms. Darly Samual (Vice Principal) and Mr. M. Sathaiah.

The camp highlighted the ongoing commitment of the BPO, Little Andaman, towards ensuring better healthcare and educational support for children with special needs in the region. (Story Based on PR)
