In a significant crackdown on illegal timber related activities, an operation by Central Crime Station (PS CCS) apprehended one individual and confiscated a substantial quantity of sawn padauk timber on Monday.
Acting on precise intelligence provided by a reliable source, a team from the PS Central Crime Station, comprising Sub-Inspector Vinit Kumar Maurya and constables Sanjit Madhu, Sanjay Kujur, K. Rajendran, Amit Singh, Y. Srinivas Rao, and Amos George, conducted a raid in Azad Nagar, Stewartgunj. The operation resulted in the apprehension of Rashid Akram, aged 33 and a resident of Azad Nagar, Stewartgunj.
The raid, executed meticulously, led to the discovery and seizure of 150 pieces of illegal sawn padauk timber, measuring approximately 1.9705 cubic meters, in various sizes. Additionally, two window frames were also confiscated from Akram’s rented residence in Azad Nagar.
Following established procedures, the detained individual, Rashid Akram, along with the seized articles, was promptly handed over to officials from the Forest Department, specifically the Mannarghat Range, for further necessary legal action.
