To commemorate the Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and observe Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day), the Andaman & Nicobar Police organised an impressive ceremonial parade that showcased their commitment to strengthening the unity and integrity of the nation.
The parade, a symbol of national unity, featured contingents from various units of the A&N Police, including the Executive Police Gents & Ladies, IRBn, Fire Service, Police Brass and Pipe Bands. Additionally, a contingent from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) under the command of parade commander Ms. Yogita Sharma, Deputy Superintendent of Police (APU), added to the grandeur of the event.
The procession began at Dharmshala Junction and proceeded to Flag Point before returning to the Girls School, captivating the spectators with their disciplined and impressive march. The parade was presided over by Mr. Devesh Chandra Srivastva, IPS, Director General of Police for the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, who took the salute on this significant occasion.
The event drew a large crowd of enthusiastic onlookers, including members of the general public, who expressed their appreciation for the remarkable performances by the A & N Police Brass Band and Ladies Pipe Band. These musical elements of the parade filled the atmosphere with patriotic fervour, instilling a sense of pride and unity among the audience.
Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, observed nationwide on the 31st of October, holds a special place in the hearts of Indians, serving as a day of remembrance and dedication to strengthening the unity, integrity, and security of the nation. The parade organised by the Andaman & Nicobar Police served as a fitting tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and his unwavering commitment to the unity of India.
