India Tourism, ANTOA, TVOA & WTBOA Organise Promotional Visit to Jolly Buoy Island as Part of Programme to Highlight Lesser-Known Destinations

India Tourism, Sri Vijaya Puram, under the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, on Saturday organised a special promotional programme titled “Promotion of Lesser-Known Tourism Destination – Jolly Buoy Island” to showcase the island’s tourism potential and strengthen its visibility among travellers.

The programme was conducted in collaboration with the Andaman Nicobar Tour Operators Association (ANTOA), Tourist Vehicles Owners Association (TVOA) and Wandoor Tourist Boat Owners Association (WTBOA).

Around 60 members representing various tourism stakeholders of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands participated in the promotional visit to Jolly Buoy Island. The initiative aimed at highlighting the island’s natural beauty and encouraging wider promotion among domestic and international tourists.

The programme was attended by Mr. N. Velmurugan, Assistant Director, India Tourism; Mr. Simson, President of ANTOA; Mr. Selvam, President of TVOA; Mr. Ankit Kumar Tripathi; Mr. ML Maheshwari, Boat Owner representative; and Dr. Guruswamy, along with other members of tourism associations and stakeholders.

Addressing the participants, Mr. N. Velmurugan said that Jolly Buoy Island is among the most beautiful tourist destinations in the Andaman Islands, known for its crystal-clear waters, vibrant coral reefs and pristine environment. He emphasised that effective marketing and branding are essential to promote the island as a premier eco-tourism destination.

He further stated that the Ministry of Tourism and India Tourism remain committed to supporting initiatives aimed at promoting Jolly Buoy Island and other lesser-known destinations of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands to attract more visitors and strengthen the local tourism economy.

The programme concluded with appreciation for the active participation of tourism stakeholders and a collective commitment to promote Jolly Buoy Island as one of the leading tourist destinations in the islands.
