The Deputy Education Officer (DEO), South Andaman, will organize the Inter Primary School Football League-cum-Knockout Tournament–2026 for primary school students of the Sri Vijaya Puram Zone, with the aim of promoting sportsmanship, physical fitness, teamwork and the holistic development of young players.
All primary schools under the jurisdiction of the DEO, South Andaman, will participate in the tournament. The competition will also serve as a platform to identify talented players, with outstanding performers to be selected to represent South Andaman in upcoming State-level football tournaments.
The tournament is open to both boys and girls at the primary level and will commence on February 3 at the Government Girls Senior Secondary School Ground, Sri Vijaya Puram.
Education officials stated that the initiative reflects the department’s commitment to encouraging sporting activities among students at an early age and nurturing grassroots-level talent in the region.
