IPA Takes Up Issues of Pharmacists with Chief Secretary

Mr. Abhay Kumar, National President, Indian Pharmacist Association has written a letter to Chief Secretary, Andaman and Nicobar Administration and informed him about various issues related to the Pharmacist Community of the Islands.

Mr. Abhay informed the Chief Secretary that no pharmacists have been recruited under the Health Department of Andaman and Nicobar Administration since 2010. He further informed that in 2018 E-Recruitment notice was called for the post of pharmacists, but even after a lapse of four years, the recruitment procedure is still incomplete.

He also informed the Chief Secretary that ANIIMS was established in the Islands in 2015, but not a single pharmacist has been recruited under ANIIMS till date.

Mr. Abhay has requested the Chief Secretary for early completion of the recruitment procedure for pharmacists under DHS as per the vacancy advertised in 2018 and for filling up of all vacant posts. He had also requested filling up all the posts of pharmacists in ANIIMS and for the ten Jan Aushadi Kendras operating in various areas.

He also requested the Chief Secretary to create new posts for Pharmacists as many new PHCs have come up, but no new posts for Pharmacists have been created since 2001. He further requested the creation of a Drugs Control Department under A & N Administration.

Mr. Abhay also demanded the posting of Pharmacists in every Sub-Centre and creation of promotional avenues for Pharmacists.
