IRCA South Andaman Conducts Awareness Programmes to Mark International Day Against Drug Abuse 2025

As part of the observance of International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking 2025, the Integrated Rehabilitation Centre for Addicts (IRCA), South Andaman District, organized two Awareness Programme-cum-Seminars on June 18 and 19, 2025. The sessions were held at BRITECH IT Group of Institute and Nursery Teacher’s Training Institute (NTTI), Sri Vijaya Puram, drawing active participation from a large number of students and faculty members.

Mr. R.C. Das, Chairman and CEO of BRITECH IT and NTTI, welcomed the gathering and appealed to all present to remain vigilant and committed to a life free from addiction.

Dr. M.K. Mahato, Medical Officer, IRCA South Andaman, delivered an insightful address on the harmful effects of alcohol and substance abuse. He also shared practical guidance on how individuals can resist and recover from addiction.

As a symbolic gesture of commitment, all participants took a pledge to abstain from substance abuse and lead healthy, drug-free lives.
