The students of the Government Industrial Training Institute, Car Nicobar are suffering because of the unavailability of instructors for teaching students enrolled in different trades. Six different trades are currently being offered to the students of ITI, Car Nicobar.
Out of the six trades being offered at the institute, classes are being conducted for only three trades i.e Electrician, Plumber and Computer Operator & Programming Assistant (COPA).
The institute only has instructors for two trades i.e Plumber & COPA, whereas one employee of Doordarshan visits the institute to teach the students pursuing the Electrician Trade.
Students have informed Nicobar Times, that they are concerned for their future as they are not being informed of the status of recruiting new instructors.
The other trades offered at the institute are Mason, Welder and Stenographer & Secretarial Assistant.
Most of the students who have enrolled at ITI, Car Nicobar are hostellers and hail from different Islands of the Nicobar District, as well as from the other two districts of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
