The Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission (JERC) has approved the revised Retail Electricity Tariff for the Andaman and Nicobar Islands for the 4th Control Period, covering the financial years 2025–26 to 2029–30. The revised tariff has come into effect from 1st November, 2025.
The tariff revision was approved by JERC through its Tariff Order dated October 28, 2025, issued under Petition No. 151/2025. The new tariff structure has been formulated in accordance with the updated JERC guidelines issued in December 2024.
As per the Electricity Department, the revision aims to rationalise the retail tariff framework by introducing simplified and uniform consumer categories and sub-categories. These classifications are based on factors such as usage pattern, voltage level, contracted load, electricity consumption, terms and conditions of supply, and applicable miscellaneous charges, ensuring consistency across all distribution utilities falling under JERC’s jurisdiction.
The detailed Tariff Order for the 4th Control Period is available for public reference on the official website of the Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission (www.jercuts.gov.in) as well as on the Electricity Department’s website (vidyut.andamannicobar.gov.in).
