The Directorate of RD, PRI & ULBs, A & N Administration will be organizing a ‘Job Mela’ under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushal Yojana (DDU-GKY) Scheme in collaboration with Employment Exchange (Model Career Centre) on 28th April 2023 at 10 am at Chouldari Community Hall, Chouldari Bazaar under Ferrargunj Block.
The DDU-GKY Scheme is a flagship programme of the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, aimed at providing skill training and placement opportunities to rural youth. In order to achieve the objective of providing employment opportunities to the trained candidates, the Job Mela is being organised to enable the participating candidates to interact with various employers from different sectors and explore job opportunities that match their skills and interests.
The Job Mela will not only benefit the trained candidates but also employers who will get access to a pool of skilled and trained candidates from rural areas. This will help bridge the urban-rural divide and create employment opportunities in rural areas.
The rural youth looking for job opportunities shall also get to know about various skill development programmes and schemes being implemented by the Rural Development Department, Industries Department and Lead Bank to get into sustainable self-employment ventures.
Therefore, the youth residing in the Gram Panchayats, especially in Ferrargunj and Prothrapur Blocks under South Andaman District have been requested to participate in the Job Mela and avail the opportunity.
