A Joint Table Top Exercise on 29th November 2022 and a Joint Mock Exercise will be held on 30th November 2022 at Great Nicobar Island to check the disaster preparedness of various departments and stakeholders. The exercises will be conducted in association with National Disaster Response Force.
The exercises will be conducted for three types of disasters viz. Earthquake/Tsunami, Cyclone and Fire.
The first mock exercise will be conducted at 7:00 Am at Kamal Basthi and will check the preparedness in the event of an Earthquake/Tsunami.
The second mock exercise will be conducted at 10:00 Am at Vijay Nagar and will check the preparedness in the event of a Cyclone.
The third mock exercise will be conducted at 03:00 Pm at RPRS Colony and will check the preparedness in the event of a Fire.
Announcements will be made regarding the mock drill for the awareness of the general public and directions have also been issued to the religious heads to play the announcement at their respective religious places for awareness of the general public.
The recording of the announcement is also being widely shared by the general public in different WhatsApp Groups of the area.
