In a relentless pursuit against bootlegging, authorities in the N & M Andaman District have embraced a jungle search strategy, reaping significant success in curbing illicit activities. Numerous jungle search operations have been executed, leading to the confiscation of illicit liquor and the apprehension of offenders.
The latest triumph in this battle unfolded on February 9, 2024, as the Police team from PS Kalighat, comprised of PCs Sushil Sarkar and Subrata Biswas, embarked on a mission deep within the Parangara forest. Their target: dismantle the stronghold of bootlegging by eradicating 300 litres of illicit liquor concealed in two iron drums. Alongside the potent liquor, a cache of raw materials, utensils, and other paraphernalia used in the production process was also discovered and promptly destroyed.
Under the meticulous guidance of Mr. Chandra Prakash Meena, DANIPS, SDPO Diglipur, and the overarching leadership of Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, Superintendent of Police, N&M Andaman District, the operation unfolded seamlessly, dealing a significant blow to the illegal liquor manufacturing network.
