Kalighat Police Successfully Dismantles Illicit Liquor Operation in Talbagan Forest

In a swift and decisive operation, the Kalighat Police demonstrated their commitment to tackling illegal activities by dismantling an illicit liquor operation in the dense forest of Talbagan. Led by Sub-Inspector Silpi Singha, the team seized a substantial quantity of Lehan, a local illicit brew, in a bid to disrupt the network of illegal liquor manufacturing.

Under the jurisdiction of PS Kalighat, the operation was conducted meticulously, with PCs Sushil Sarkar, Ranjit Biswas, Eileen, and Subrata Biswas forming part of the team. Venturing deep into the jungle of Talabagan, the officers discovered and confiscated 110 litres of Lehan along with equipment and utensils used in its production. The illicit materials were cunningly concealed within the depths of the forest, indicating the sophistication of the operation.

All confiscated items were swiftly destroyed, dealing a significant blow to the illegal liquor manufacturing network operating in the area. The successful operation was conducted under the vigilant supervision of Mr. Brij Mohan Meena, DANIPS, SDPO Diglipur, with overall direction and oversight provided by Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, Superintendent of Police, N&M Andaman District.
