‘Kriti’ Craft Bazaar Showcases Talent of Skill Development Program Trainees of DBRAIT

The two-day Exhibition-cum-Bazaar ‘Kriti’, organized by Skill Development Program (SDP) trainees of the Fashion and Apparel Designing Course at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology (DBRAIT), was inaugurated on 11th February 2025, by Ms. Smitha R, IAS, Secretary (Power), Andaman and Nicobar Administration. The event is being held at the TGCE Hall, Middle Point, and features a vibrant collection of handmade garments, handicrafts, and artworks.

In her inaugural address, Ms. Smitha R applauded the creativity and dedication of the trainees, emphasizing the importance of supporting and promoting local crafts. She encouraged DBRAIT to continue organizing such initiatives, urging them to explore opportunities in skill development and entrepreneurship to make the Islands an Aatmanirbhar Dweep (self-reliant islands).

Earlier, Dr. Utpal Sharma, Principal of DBRAIT, commended the joint efforts of the organizing team, trainees, and trainers for successfully putting together the event on such a large scale. He praised the trainees for their hard work and creativity in presenting unique, high-quality handcrafted items.

The Kriti Craft Bazaar will remain open to the public on February 12, 2025, until 7 p.m., offering visitors a chance to explore the craftsmanship and artistry of local youth. A total of 196 trainees from seven training centers across the Islands are participating in the event, showcasing a wide array of garments, handicrafts, and utility items.
