Kuldeep Rai Sharma Demands Filling Up of 80 Vacant Posts of Seaman in Directorate of Shipping Services

Member of Parliament, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, representing Andaman and Nicobar Islands is urging swift action to address a critical issue within the Directorate of Shipping Services, A & N Administration. In a formal letter directed to the Chief Secretary of the Andaman and Nicobar Administration, Sharma highlighted the urgent need to fill 80 vacant positions for Seamen.

Expressing his concern over the significant number of unfilled seaman roles, Sharma emphasized the potential impact on the efficiency of maritime operations and the opportunity to provide employment to local youths. With a wealth of qualified individuals residing in the islands eager to contribute their skills, Sharma stressed the importance of promptly filling these vacancies to both bolster the effectiveness of shipping services and address unemployment among island youths.

“By expediting the recruitment process and filling these positions promptly, we can address the pressing need for skilled manpower within our maritime sector while simultaneously empowering our local youths with employment opportunities,” Sharma asserted in his letter.
