In an effort to address the ongoing water crisis in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, organized a ‘Rainfall Prayer Event’ at Tiranga Park on Sunday. The event, which included a ‘Yagna and Sarva Dharma Prayer,’ aimed to seek divine intervention for much-needed rainfall in the region.
A press release from the MP’s office highlighted the successful turnout of senior citizens who actively participated in the program.
During the event, Mr. Sharma addressed the gathering and emphasized the severity of the water crisis. He highlighted the delay in the arrival of the monsoon, which is typically expected by this time of the year in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
The Member of Parliament also mentioned his efforts in raising the issue of the water crisis in parliamentary discussions and meetings with local administration. He stressed the urgent need to explore solutions such as the creation of new water reservoirs.
The primary objective of organizing the event, as stated by the MP’s office, was to bring together individuals from all religious backgrounds in prayer, hoping for the invocation of rainfall.
