Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, the incumbent Member of Parliament representing Andaman and Nicobar Islands, was greeted with jubilation and fervour upon his arrival in Port Blair on 25th March 2024. This warm reception came in the wake of his confirmation as the Congress party’s candidate for the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections.
A throng of Congress leaders and supporters assembled at the airport well in advance, eager to extend their felicitations to Mr. Sharma. Amidst a sea of cheers and vibrant decorations, he was adorned with garlands, symbolising the enthusiasm and support of his followers.
The supporters, brimming with joy and solidarity, conveyed their congratulations to Mr. Sharma for clinching the Congress ticket. They pledged unwavering support, underscoring their commitment to stand by him throughout the electoral campaign.
Speaking to the press upon his arrival, Kuldeep Rai Sharma underscored the significance of the electorate in shaping the electoral landscape. He exuded confidence in securing victory in the forthcoming polls, buoyed by the overwhelming support he has garnered.
Following his reception, Mr. Sharma, accompanied by party functionaries and well-wishers, proceeded to the Congress Office. There, he held a strategic meeting with Rangalal Halder, the President of Pradesh Congress Committee, to chart out the campaign trajectory.
The gathering witnessed the presence of influential leaders from the DMK’s Andaman and Nicobar state unit, reaffirming their allegiance to the Congress party. Their commitment further solidified the alliance’s prospects in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.

Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma will file his nomination as Congress Candidate on 27th March 2024, which is the last date of filing nomination for Andaman and Nicobar Islands Parliamentary Constituency.
