The Ministry of Labour & Employment has extended the deadline for submission of accidental claim settlements under the e-Shram portal till 30th June 2025, offering a final opportunity for eligible unorganised workers or their nominees to submit pending claims.

Launched on 26th August 2021, the e-Shram portal was designed to create a comprehensive, Aadhaar-seeded National Database of Unorganised Workers (NDUW). At the time of its launch, the Ministry had also announced accidental risk coverage—including compensation in the event of accidental death or partial/permanent disability—for all registered workers, valid for the first year of registration.

To facilitate the disbursement of these claims, the Ministry developed the e-Shram Ex-Gratia Module, under which District Magistrates are designated as the approving authorities for claim settlements.

As per the latest directive, those registered on the e-Shram portal (or their nominees) who suffered accidental death or disability on or before 31st March 2022 and have not yet submitted their claims are urged to do so before the new deadline.

Eligible individuals from the Andaman & Nicobar Islands are advised to visit the Facilitation Centre at the office of the ANBOCW Welfare Board, Labour Department, Supply Line, Sri Vijaya Puram. For assistance, they may contact 8900901130.

Authorities have urged all stakeholders to utilise this extended window and ensure timely submission of all required documents through the designated portal.
