In the bustling political landscape of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, anticipation rises as the incumbent Member of Parliament, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, representing the Indian National Congress, gears up to file his nomination for the forthcoming elections. The event would be marked by a spirited procession starting from the Congress Office, Gandhi Bhavan, at 10:00 am.
Congress enthusiasts and party members are set to join the procession. Leaders of the Congress have extended a warm invitation to party workers, members of the India Alliance Parties, and the general public to participate and shower their blessings upon Mr. Sharma as he embarks on his electoral journey.
Simultaneously, Mr. V K Abdul Aziz, the candidate from the Andaman Nicobar Janta Party, will also file his nomination today. His procession is slated to commence from Goal Ghar at the same time, adding to the political fervency enveloping the region.
Today, the 27th of March 2024, marks the deadline for filing nominations for the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Parliamentary Constituency. With the deadline looming, expectations are rife that independent candidates will also make their presence felt by filing nominations.
Currently, five candidates have already thrown their hats into the electoral ring. They include Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray from the Bharatiya Janata Party, Dr. Arun Kumar Mallik from the Bahujan Samaj Party, Mr. D Ayyappan representing the Communist Party of India (Marxist), Mr. Manoj Paul from the Andaman Nicobar Democratic Congress, and Mr. K J B Selvaraj from the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam.
