Legal Awareness Camp Conducted in Diglipur to Empower Local Community

A significant Legal Awareness Camp was held at the Gram Panchayat Hall in Kishorinagar, Diglipur, aimed at educating and empowering the local community on various legal issues. The event was organized by the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), North and Middle Andaman (N&MA), under the guidance of Mr. Dilkhush Meena, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of N&MA.

The camp saw the participation of several distinguished guests, including the Chief Guest, Mr. Subhajit Basu, Hon’ble Additional District & Sessions Judge (ADJ) of Mayabunder, and the Guest of Honour, Mr. Tarun Kumar Mondal, Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) of Mayabunder. They were joined by other notable figures, such as Ms. Banani Biswas, Station House Officer (SHO) of PS Kalighat; an advocate from CJM Court Mayabunder; the Pradhan of Gram Panchayat Kishorinagar; and the District Child Protection Officer (DCPO), N&MA.

In his address, Mr. Basu emphasized the importance of legal awareness and provided valuable insights into key legal issues affecting the community. He highlighted the avenues available for legal redress and guided participants on navigating legal challenges and understanding their rights.

Mr. Mondal focused on alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, particularly Lok Adalats. He explained their role in resolving disputes amicably and efficiently, thus reducing the burden on the judicial system and providing timely justice to the public.

Other dignitaries also contributed to the discussions, broadening the participants’ understanding of legal rights and protections. The camp provided a platform for attendees to engage directly with legal experts, enhancing their knowledge of the legal framework and the support systems available to them.

The event was well-received by the community, with attendees expressing their appreciation for the informative sessions. The camp underscored the commitment of the dignitaries and other stakeholders to enhancing legal literacy and ensuring that the local community is well-informed about their legal rights and remedies.
