Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands Admiral D.K Joshi, Mr. Jitendra Narain, Chief Secretary, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and other senior officers of Andaman and Nicobar Administration participated in the Video Conferencing chaired by Mr. Amit Shah, Hon’ble Home Minister to review the status/preparedness for cyclone Yaas.
Chief Ministers of Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal also participated in the VC.
Earlier one death was reported from Chouldari area of South Andaman. A tree fell on a house due the inclement weather caused by cyclone Yaas which led to the death of a 17 year old boy.
Reports of damage to the assets of tourism industry stakeholders have also been received from several areas of South Andaman District.
