Bye-elections to various Gram Panchayat Member (GPM), Zilla Parishad Member (ZPM) and Municipal Ward constituencies were conducted peacefully across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on 08 February, 2026. The polling process was carried out in a free, fair and transparent manner under the supervision of the election authorities.
The bye-elections were held for the Gram Panchayat Member constituencies of Madhupur-6 under Gram Panchayat Madhupur in Diglipur Tehsil, Bakultala-3 under Gram Panchayat Bakultala in Rangat Tehsil, Mannarghat-4 under Gram Panchayat Mannarghat, and Bambooflat-1 under Gram Panchayat Hope Town in Ferrargunj Tehsil. In addition, polling was conducted for the Zilla Parishad Member constituency of Mayabunder in North and Middle Andaman district and the Ward Councillor seat of Ward No. 17 under Sri Vijaya Puram Municipal Council.
According to official sources, polling concluded without any untoward incidents. After the completion of voting, all polled materials were securely shifted and kept in identified strong rooms as per prescribed procedures.
According to official data, Madhupur-6 GPM constituency recorded a polling percentage of 76.97 per cent, while Bakultala-3 registered 67.81 per cent polling. The Mannarghat-4 GPM constituency recorded 65.75 per cent turnout, and Bambooflat-1 GPM constituency registered 72.28 per cent polling. The Zilla Parishad Member constituency of Mayabunder recorded a turnout of 44.62 per cent, while Ward No. 17 of Sri Vijaya Puram Municipal Council registered a polling percentage of 39.73 per cent.
