Admiral D.K. Joshi (Retd.), Hon’ble Lt. Governor of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Vice-Chairman of the Islands Development Agency, attended a high-level meeting held today at New Delhi. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Nitin Gadkari, the Hon’ble Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India, and was attended by General Vijay Kumar Singh, Hon’ble Minister of State, among other dignitaries. The primary agenda of the meeting was to assess the status of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) projects undertaken by the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) across various States and Union Territories.
During the session, significant emphasis was placed on evaluating the progress of national highway in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Directions were issued for early resolutions of the problems that persists in providing better connectivity.
The meeting, chaired by Mr. Nitin Gadkari and graced by the presence of Lt. Governor D.K. Joshi, marked a significant step forward in steering focused attention towards the imperative task of fortifying road connectivity in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
