Admiral D K Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), Hon’ble Lt. Governor of the Andaman and Nicobar (A&N) Islands and Vice Chairman of the Islands Development Agency, held significant meetings with top dignitaries to discuss the progress of strategic infrastructure and development projects, along with initiatives aimed at promoting National Integration.
On August 28, 2023, Admiral D K Joshi paid a courtesy call to Hon’ble President, Mrs. Droupadi Murmu, at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. During this meeting, the Lt. Governor presented a comprehensive briefing on the advancements made in the strategic infrastructure and development initiatives in the A&N Islands. He also highlighted various measures undertaken by the A&N Administration to bolster National Integration.
In a subsequent engagement, on August 29, 2023, Admiral Joshi met with Mr. Jagdeep Dhankhar, Hon’ble Vice President. During this encounter, the Lt. Governor updated the Vice President on the progress of ongoing and upcoming mega projects encompassing infrastructure, tourism, hospitality, and overall developmental undertakings in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
These discussions underscored the commitment of the A&N Administration to bolstering the region’s development, emphasising its strategic significance, and promoting unity and integration within the nation.
The Lt. Governor’s meetings with the President and Vice President signify the collaborative efforts being made to transform the A&N Islands into a hub of strategic importance and a tourist destination of international repute.
