Lt. Governor Unveils New Logo of Andaman and Nicobar Police, Showcasing Island’s Essence and the Motto of Police

In a significant ceremony held today, Admiral D K Joshi (Retd.), the Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, revealed the new logo for the Andaman and Nicobar Police. The event, attended by esteemed dignitaries including the Chief Secretary, Director General of Police, Adhyaksh of Zilla Parishad (South Andaman), Chairperson of PBMC, and several other senior officers, marked a milestone in the police force’s history.

The newly unveiled logo is a testament to the unique characteristics of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and encompasses the motto of the police: “Nirbhay, Nipun, Nishpaksh.” With great pride, the logo showcases various symbolic elements that represent the spirit and ethos of the region.

At the top of the logo lies the national emblem, serving as a reminder of the unity and integrity of India. Below it is the shape of a coconut fruit, adorned with its crown, symbolizing the tropical landscape of the Islands. Additionally, the logo prominently features the historic Cellular Jail, a poignant symbol of the region’s freedom struggle.

Highlighting the essential role of the police in maritime security, a police boat and the sea finds its place in the logo, reflecting their dedication to safeguarding the coastal waters.

The motto of the Andaman and Nicobar Police is inscribed in Hindi, emphasizing the principles of “Nirbhay” (fearless), “Nipun” (expert/proficient/benevolent), and “Nishpaksh” (neutral). These values serve as guiding principles for the police force as they uphold law and order and serve the community.

With its rich symbolism and powerful message, the logo embodies the spirit of the Islands and inspires trust, safety, and security for all residents and visitors alike.
