M. A. Sajid, State President of NSUI and State Vice President of PYC A&N Islands, has raised serious concerns over the growing stray dog menace in Ward No. 13, urging the Sri Vijaya Puram Municipal Council to take immediate action to protect residents from increasing attacks.
In a formal letter addressed to the Municipal Council Secretary, Sajid highlighted multiple incidents in recent months where stray dogs have aggressively attacked pedestrians and two-wheeler riders, causing injuries and instilling fear in the community. “Several school children are now afraid to walk to school, and senior citizens hesitate to step out for their daily walks,” Sajid noted in his appeal.
Sajid pointed out that the dog-catching van has not visited Ward No. 13 for several years, resulting in an unchecked rise in the stray dog population. He has called for the immediate resumption of regular dog-catching operations to restore safety and peace in the ward.
Residents have welcomed Sajid’s intervention and are hopeful that the municipal authorities will respond swiftly to resolve the escalating public safety issue.
