In a significant recognition of his longstanding contributions to the tourism industry, Mr. M. Vinod, Director of Modern Tours & Travels, Sri Vijaya Puram, and Chapter Head of the Association of Buddhist Tour Operators (ABTO) for Andaman and Lakshadweep, has been appointed as the Vice President (Honorary) of ABTO’s National Advisory Board.

His appointment will be effective from 14th July 2025 to 9th December 2026.

The ABTO Managing Committee announced the appointment earlier this week, highlighting Mr. Vinod’s exemplary efforts in promoting sustainable and meaningful tourism across the Asia-Pacific region. His leadership has consistently been acknowledged for strengthening responsible travel practices and fostering cross-cultural connections.

In his new role, Mr. Vinod will collaborate closely with the ABTO leadership team to enhance global tourism partnerships and build stronger cooperation among tour operators worldwide. His appointment is also expected to shine a brighter spotlight on the Andaman Islands as an emerging and desirable destination for global travellers.

Congratulating Mr. Vinod, the ABTO Managing Committee expressed full confidence in his ability to advance the association’s mission of promoting peace, humanity, and cultural unity through responsible tourism.
